Don District Sheffield - Cub Scouts
CUBS100 - Scrapheap Challenge
Saturday - 2nd July 2016
The popular challenge this year will require cubs to build a JUNGLE based model.
Following the 'big build', we will have a picnic lunch followed by a camp fire, renewal of our Promise and a big clear up to finish.
Venue: 231st Shiregreen Scout HQ, Barnsley Road.
Time: 10:00 - 14:00
Maximum - 2 teams per pack - 6 cubs per team.
Minimum - one leader for each team entered
Packed lunch for picnic.
Coat (or similar) if it’s wet.
Uniform not required (except neckers) as it could be messy
If you would like to come to this event then send me an email or let me know at Canoeing on Monday. Only 12 places available.
*** PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF DAY ***
Meet at Boat House by River Don, Oughtibridge Playing Fields at 6.30 p.m. The activity will finish by 8 p.m. You don’t need to be in uniform. Bring a towel and spare set of clothes and shoes – wet suit if you have one. Old trainers, or shoes for water activities, to be worn whilst canoeing.
The cost is £4.00 (this has been subsidised by the Group). Please pay Cub Leader on arrival and ensure completed form is handed in. Please ensure form here is fully completed – failure to hand in this fully completed slip will mean you will not be allowed on the river.
If there are enough canoes siblings/parents can join in but must pay £5.00 each. Do not pay for siblings/adults until we know canoes are available.
The playing fields can be found at the back of the park. If going to Oughtibridge via Jaw Bone Hill, you will pass the park on your right but, despite the entrance you want being the sharp right turn at Oughtibridge cross roads, you need to take the one way system left and follow it round. Once back at that entrance/road, follow it a short way and take the road/lane running along the back of the houses. Unless work has been done on it over the last twelve months, the last part of the track is not surfaced, has “pot holes”, and is single track. At the end, turn right – this will lead you to the boat house/pavilion.
Any queries, ring Darrel on 0114 2464563 / 07913445006
